Stonehouse     -           26th March 2006

Thank you to the exhibitors who gave me beautifully presented dogs to judge.  Quality and temperament were excellent, without exception.  When it came to close decisions, the points that I preferred were a level bridge of the nose (not a tip-tilted one), and the correct one in three proportions in head.  The other clincher was in the hind quarters where I wanted strength with firm hocks, as opposed to a weak over-extension.

Veteran Dog

1st        BVIS   PEAKAJAY HIGH FINANCE JW, 8 years moved soundly with proud head and tail carriage.  Good head proportions.  Well ribbed-up.

Minor Puppy Dog

1st        VADERLANDS VERMILLION (BPD), Won with his excellent front assembly and sound movement.  Well laid shoulder, firm elbows, good bone and compact feet.  Good head, alert expression, correct dentition.  Well ribbed-up but would like shorter loin.

2nd        ZANAMOP FOLLOW THAT TIGER, 7 month quality jacket.  Appealing expression with black nose, well placed dark eyes, good mouth.  Long neck, long ribcage, good strength in hindquarters driving from firm hocks.

Puppy Dog

1st        WOLFERLOW WHAT A GOSSIP, 11 month old in good coat.  Balanced head, dark eye, reverse scissor.  Length of neck but could have better lay of shoulder.  Length and depth of brisket, firm loin.  Moved well with sound hocks.

2nd        JALUS GALILEO, masculine head, black nose.  Level topline, tail could be held closer.  Excellent coat.

3rd        KENWORTH HEART OF THE LION WITH KINGSBARASTON, pleasing outline with well carried tail.  Balanced head and lovely firm body, long ribbing and strong loin.  Needs to settle in movement.
