SOUTH WEST Open Show 18 March 2012
Judge
Mandy Phillips (Dimara)
I
would like to thank the committee for
asking me to judge this show, they looked after me superbly and I
enjoyed my
day thoroughly. There was a great atmosphere and it was a privilege to
have
some lovely exhibits to go over.
Veteran Dog

1
Waterhouse's Ch Am Ch Chtaura Dream
Machine. Cream dog of 12 and a half years young. He just loves the
showring!
This boy is a credit to his owner and his movement was so spritely and
he was
very sound both ways. Such a soft expressive head and in great
condition:
overall an Apso that speaks for himself.
Minor Puppy Dog
(1)
1
Young's Sinyul Al Pacino. 7 month old
grey and white baby. Full of his own self-importance which is so nice
to see. Head
properties were good with fabulous pigment and a nice dark eye, good
chin. Good
ribbing, nice depth of chest and good overall balance created a nice
picture.
Angles fore and aft were in proportion, so presented a balanced
movement. He
enjoyed his day out!

1
Barnett and Carter's Amdo Quizmaster with Alamiks. 11 month old gold
boy,
presented a lovely picture from all angles. He had some very good
qualities. A
lovely soft expression, nice fall from the eyes back, good eye, pigment
and
length of muzzle. Excellent mouth. Nice shoulder, good length of upper
arm and
a good forechest. Super arched neck leading into a strong body, a touch
long at
the moment but he has a very good rib extending right back. Coat ok,
maybe a
little dry. Movement very sound both ways, back angles very good and
well let
down hocks. A promising puppy. BPIS.
2
Young's Sinyul Al Pacino.

1
Paradise's Shardlow Scotch on the
Rocks JW. 15 month old cream dog and a lot to like about this boy. My
hands
flowed over him, a lovely head, eye, pigment, chin and skull. Fabulous
forechest and a nice lay of shoulder. Good upper arm, good length of
neck and a
nice depth of chest. Level topline, good ribbing. Tailset is good and
well set.
Back angles and muscles strong. Hocks well let down. Movement balanced
and
sound. This boy created a nice picture, one to watch.
2.
Langford's, Quaytown Hear It for the Boys. Silver cream boy. Nice
expression,
eye pigment good, skull correct. Shoulder lay good, upper arm a little
shorter
than winner. Ribbing a nice length. Good angles at the back.
Well-muscled.
Moved well. Nice dog overall. Still young and needs to mature more in
front.
3.
Ward's, Alamiks Heart Throb.
4.
Paradise's, Shardlow Snow Phoenix.
Yearling Dog

1.
Waterhouse's, Chtaura Hippy Hippy Shake. This cream boy is lovely to go
over.
Everything is in the right place. He is such a gentle soul. His
expression is
so soft and wistful. His angles are all good. Ribbing is good. Level
topline.
Nice tail set. His outline is super. When he moves he is full of
himself with a
"look at me" attitude. I liked him very much. Would like just a
little more of him.
2.
Paradise's, Shardlow Snow Phoenix.
This is the brother to my Junior dog winner. He has some nice
qualities. His
head is soft, pigment good. Good body and ribbing. Strong backend. Well
set
tail. Outline and balance lovely. Very thick coat, front needs to

Post Graduate Dog

1.
Waterhouse's, Chtaura Well Did You
Ever. Brindle boy. Another lovely balanced dog from this kennel. Super
head
pigment, eye, chin, fall away all good and pleasing fabulous arched
neck. Good
shoulders, upper arm and width of chest. Body very sturdy. Nice
ribbing. Level
topline. Well set tail. Moved well but would prefer more strength in
back
movement. Love this dog though.
2.
Pointon's, Quaytown Share the Wish
at Ballito. Gold boy higher on the leg than winner. Nice soft
expression, eye a
little rounder. Angles good throughout. Ribbing a nice length. Topline
roaching
on the day. Presented well. Moved ok.
Limit Dog

1.
Langford's, Hazgaye Worth the Wait
for Quaytown. What can I say?? This gold boy was worth the wait for me.
When I
looked at his head, o m g took my breath away. It is fabulous. Pigment
black as
coal, dark correct shaped eye, nice fall away, good length of muzzle
and good
strength of chin. I couldn't stop looking into that lovely face,
fabulous. Very
good condition. Coat shone. Credit to his owner. Nice shoulder lay,
good length
of upper arm. Strong neck. Nice depth of chest. Good ribbing.
Well-muscled back
proportions, good strong hocks. Well set tail. Level topline. Presented
a
gorgeous outline. Moved well. RBD.
2.
Richardson's, Nemmi Impetuous
Belazieth. This cream dog was higher on the leg than winner. Presents a
nice
picture overall though he has some very good points, but needs to
mature. He is
only still young so plenty of time but on the day his movement was not
as good
as I have seen him previous and his pigment was off for me this spoils
the
expression.
Open Dog

1.
Lewis handling for Radstock's,
Ned/Int/Jun Ch. Close to Perfection Next to You. This cream dog is a
stunning
young male. Only very young, still in maturity but he has everything in
the
right place. His expression is very soft and kind. Lovely shaped and
colour of
eye, nice fall away, good strength of muzzle. Very good pigment and
good chin.
Lovely lay of shoulder, good length of upper arm. Nice depth and width
to his
chest. Nice arched well-muscled neck. Lovely ribbing. Level topline.
Well set
tail. Backend proportions are good and strong. Nicely angled second
thigh. Well
let down hock. Overall he presents a lovely picture on the move and
stood. He
moved well and was sound but I would love to see him in a big ring I
bet we
would see how good he really can move then! He is an exciting prospect
and I'm
privileged to have gone over him and award him BIS.
2.
Carter's, Vowchurch Chico Time. This
dog makes me smile. He is a down and a real cheeky chap. He has a
gentle
expression and is a good sturdy Apso who loves life. So glad he came.
He is
delightful.
Veteran Bitch (2,1).

Waterhouse's, Ch. Chtaura All You
Need is Love JW. Nearly 9 years old a fabulous. Stylish grey girl. Her
head is
very feminine with the darkest of features. Lovely angles fore and aft.

1.
Paradise's, Wrenwrox Love is the
Drug for Shardlow. 8 months old black and white puppy girl. Nice head
pigment,
lovely looking chin because of her mouth, spoils her expression a
little but my
goodness she has attitude if entertaining. She has a lovely front
assembly and
well arched neck. A sturdy body with good depth of chest. Good angles
at back
which she uses well on the move and when she settled she was sound. A
nice
puppy.
2.
Birch's, Wrenwrox's Uptown Girl. Litter
sister to winner. A nice little gold and white baby. A pretty girl in
nice
condition. Front ok. Narrower throughout than her sister and much more
sedated
in personality. Well set tail. Good length of rib. Moved ok.

1.
Paradise's, Wrenwrox's Savignon
Blanc with Shardlow. 11 months old cream girl. This puppy has a lovely
outline.
She is so very pretty, so feminine very sound to go over. Has
everything in the
right place. When she moved, she moved well both ways. At the moment
she lacks
coat. In full coat I suspect she will look quite the picture.
2. Allen's, Deelayne Etolie Russe with Quaymore Sh CM. On entering the
ring I
thought this puppy could be my winner as she is a lovely puppy, her
outline is
super. She is very pretty and has a wealth of coat, which is in lovely
condition.
When she moved I would have liked her to be firmer in front, she is
only a
youngster and this could settle as she develops.
3. Devereux's, Belazieth Eyecatcher.

soundly both
ways. Her balance is gorgeous. A nice girl.

Limit Bitch
(5,4).
1.
Langford's, Jamikasoka Hear Say at

nice eye,
chin, pigment and fall away. Good angles throughout. A little narrow in
front.

maturing. Would like to see her when she is older. A nice girl.
Open Bitch. (4)
1.
Barnett and Carter's, Lowmots
Equality for Alamiks Sh CM. This black and white girl is full of
quality and is
very sound. She has a nice head, good pigment, eye and colour. Fall
away good.
Mouth ok. Fabulous forechest, shoulder, upper arm a good balance. Nice
sweep of
neck. Good ribbing. Level topline. Well set tail. She has a lovely
outline and
moves so soundly. She has a nice forward reach too which comes from
good length
of upper arm. This bitch has some lovely attributes, but if I had to
criticise
she is carrying too much weight which she holds on her shoulders, just
spoils
her outline a bit and makes her a touch sluggish on the move. She is a
lovely
bitch. I hope she gets recognised for her qualities in the future. I
loved her.
I was very pleased to award her BB and RBIS.
2.
Roach's, Cossy's, Pistachio Cream at
Anjesics. A nice cream girl. Pretty head, pigment a little off on the
day.
mouth ok. She presents a lovely picture with clean lines and a lovely
balance.
She has very good angles fore and aft which enables her to mover very
soundly.
On the day she came up against tough competition. A nice bitch
nonetheless.
3.
Jones's, Tarendes See That Bear.
4.
Carter's, Vowchurch Maid of Magic.
